PEL Waste Reduction Equipment’s Solar Bin Compactor Awarded Best Environmental Sustainability Initiative at Gulfood 2016

The PEL Waste Reduction Equipment solar powered refuse bin compactor has been recognised as the Best Environmental Sustainability Initiative at the recent Gulfood 2016 show in Dubai UAE.

Gulfood is the largest food, beverage & hospitality trade event in Middle East with over 90,000 industry professionals visiting the show every year. The Gulfood Awards are a core element of the show, recognizing and rewarding excellence and innovation across eighteen different categories of the global food, beverage and hospitality industry. 

The PEL1100SBC solar bin compactor is the only machine of its type on the market and facilitates waste disposal cost reduction by compacting up to three bins of general, recycling or other types of waste into one bin i.e. the machine can compact up to three 1100 Litre wheelie bins of waste into one 1100 Litre wheelie bin. This compaction process reduces the number of required bin lifts; generating a cost saving of up to 66% depending on the number of bins of waste being produced. Additional benefits of using the PEL1100SBC include a reduction in the number of waste bins required for managing the same quantity of waste, smaller, cleaner and tidier waste storage areas, a lower carbon footprint through reduced traffic associated with waste collections and the potential to generate revenue from the waste being produced. Because the machine is solar powered there are zero electricity usage costs, no installation costs and a boost to the users CSR credentials.
